Video competition in science centeres: In Experyment Science Centre video competition CAMERA - SCIENCE - ACTION twelve participants took part. Teenagers attended special workshops, where they discussed film production process and received a variety of valuable tips. They were also encouraged to use Experyment’s exhibits in their videos. Finally, nine films competed for the main prize. All winners received certificates and gifts, one of which was an opportunity to participate in a professional directing workshops. The jury unanimously announced the winner of the competition – „Niesporczaki” a film made by the TARDIGRADA team consisted of Marta Płotka, Bartosz Witkowski and Mateusz Tomkiewicz. The aim of the film was to present the profile of the tardigrades taxon, describe their extraordinary abilities and potential in the development of technology and medicine.We invite you to watch the film „Niesporczaki” - click HERE. In Noesis, in total, 20 teenagers (12 – 15 years old) participated and 9 videos were created. There was an introductory meeting held at NOESIS during which the participants were informed about the project and the competition, in particular, and were split in teams of 1-3. Later on, they all received a tutorial (some introductory material on the use of Kinemaster, specially designed for them in Greek). All the videos were designed and created at NOESIS, using Kinemaster with English subtitles. They all addressed science issues drawn from the exhibits at NOESIS. A committee of three members evaluated the videos and two of them shared the first prize "The beauty of gravity" (to watch - click HERE) and "The utility of the gyroscope" (to watch - click HERE). The results of the competition were announced on the blog of the project on NOESIS’ website. Certificates of participation have been sent to all the participants. The awards were purchased by NOESIS and were sent to the winners. In Vida, for motivating students to shoot a short video with experiments, teachers were offered the possibility to join their online lessons. Since students were at home and did not have access to necessary experimental equipment or materials, Vida prepared packages with materials for ten easy experiments. Finally, Vida received 45 videos from students from three schools. Students were invited to VIDA video creation workshop. The goal was to engage students by showing different experimental setups. This time there were 181 students from three schools in total during these live streams. Vida organized the competition as a challenge, so there were no winners announced, but ten best videos were selected by the committee consisting of Vida representatives to be posted on Science Inspired YouTube channel. In Agora the competition was announced at the beginning of October. The film making workshop was open to all applicants. At the workshop, the participants were informed about the most important things to know about film making, about how to create interesting educational videos. After that educators of Agora created a short video together with the participants – recorded and showed how to cut and edit with Kine Master app. The videos submitted to the competition were evaluated by 7 professional staff of Agora. Aspects of evaluation: choice of subject (how unique, how exciting), how educational, how scientific, the quality of sound and image, how entertaining, creativity, how developed is the short film. We awarded the three best videos. They were given a value voucher, which can be turned in an electronic store. Besides that every applicant received a family ticket.
