During the epidemic, digital education got in focus even more. At Agora Science Center we used and still use different types of digital game programs, for example, LearningApps, Wordwall, Quizizz, Kahoot. We can use these types of games altogether in a Google Form, too. Google Form is a very useful program when we would like to link different games, frame these, and build these in one story. Story creating could make more arresting games because children like fairy tales, stories.
Every game type has advantages and disadvantages, too. Certain programs are more suitable for learning new things and practicing knowledge (for example LearningApps), certain programs are more suitable for check the knowledge gained earlier (for example Quizizz). Those games, where the children can correct their answers during the game give them more self-confidence. For example, matching pairs is greatly suitable for learning animals and plants.
It is easier if we can choose the right answer from a list, but if we have to type the right answer, we can account for deeper knowledge.
Those game types, where they get points are suitable for surveys and competitions.
We can make quizzes, crosswords, word grids, pairing games, matching pairs, group assignments, even horse races, too.
Digital education is independent of location but depends on technical conditions. These games don’t need special conditions, work in technical average conditions.
Children need personal attendances, it is very important, but digital games can be useful and entertaining, too, mostly in difficult circumstances.
In this way, we can teach and check more playful way and children don’t feel it is a lesson, but a game.
